Blumhouse’s The Craft: Legacy Will Be a Sequel to the 1996 Film

So it looks like this will not be a remake after all and will actually be a direct sequel. We also got a new title, The Craft: Legacy. This movie will be released on-demand everywhere on October 28.

The Craft: Legacy will be available widely on-at-home VOD rather than theaters this Halloween with leading digital retailers for a 48-hour rental period at a suggested retail price of $19.99, and for premium digital purchase at a suggested retail price of $24.99. Check out the trailer below.

To be honest, this looks pretty bad. I am not sure if it the weird sparkle effect or the fact that it literally is the same plot of the first one but I am not super hyped for this release. Of course, I will watch it because I was actually a big fan of the 1996 version, but this looks like a modern remake that got converted into a sequel.

For those unfamiliar, The Craft story follows a group of four outcast teenage girls at a fictional Los Angeles parochial high school who pursue witchcraft for their own gain but soon encounter negative repercussions. Here is the original trailer for reference.
